    On 6 September 1945, the FINCH took aboard 221 former prisoners of war at Formosa (today Taiwan). In the evening, 171 were transferred to the escort carrier USS SANTEE (CVE-29). The remaining men were unloaded at Manila, Philippines on 9 September.
