From the Ted Stone collection. Ted traveled the world photographing naval ships. Some of the only photographs of WWII destroyer escorts in mothball are credited to him. Here, the EARL. K. OLSEN is seen one year prior to being sold for scrap. Handwritten inscription in ink on original negative envelope reads: "EARL K. OLSEN - DE 765 // 10/25/72 // Philadelphia Yard // Reserve Fleet." |
