Description |
An explosion is seen off ATHERTON's port quarter, believed to be from a depth charge. It's unknown if this was taken during a training drill or an attack on a U-boat, possibly U-853. Depth charges are visible both in the port fantail racks and K-gun racks. A 20mm machine gun covered in canvas is pointed off the port side. A garbage can, wooden crate, and 20mm ammunition canister are also visible. |
