Description |
Black and white photograph of the COFER following her conversion to an APD in July 1944. Two of the four LCVPs (Landing Craft Vehicle and Personnel) carriers are visible on the starboard side in a stacked davit configuration. The extended hull provided extra accomodation for over 150 troops. Date and location is unknown but it was most likely taken during her Pacific Theater service. She is at anchor, note the Union Jack on the foc'sle and black anchor ball on the halyard. |
