2025.22.1 - Letter envelope - USS DONNELL (DE-56)
In early March 1944, Lando H. Hendrix, WT3c sent a letter to Miss June Love of Bronx, NY. On the morning of 3 May 1944 while serving aboard the DONNELL, Hendrix was one of 29 killed in action when his ship was struck by an acoustic torpedo from U-473. This envelope passed the ship's censor just before it was mailed on 9 March 1944.

2025.22.2 - First Day Issue Postal Cover: USS EARL V. JOHNSON (DE-702)
This postal cover was issued to commemorate the launching of the EARL V. JOHNSON, 24 November 1943. A brief biography of the ship's namesake, Lt. (jg) Earl V. Johnson, is at the right. He was killed in action during the Battle of Coral Sea, 9 May 1942. The ship was sponsored by his mother. A 5 cent stamp of the Greek flag is at the top right. This was addressed to CPL C. T. Viebey of Los Angeles, CA.

This postal cover commemorates the United States Navy. An image of a ship cutting through the waves is at the right. This 1944 edition of the Bluejackets' Manual was issued to Donald Zumpfe, AS during his time at the United States Navy Training Center in Bainbridge, Maryland. On 21 January 1943, Charles Beller, Jr. completed the Yeoman Second Class training course and advanced from Third class to Second class. He finished the course with a grade of 3.8/4.0. Signed by Captain Ashbrook, commanding officer of the Naval Mine Warfare School at Yorktown, VA. Chief Yeoman Harding, a Division Officer at the school, also signed.
