Memorandum to Lt. Cmdr. Alvin P. Chester, USNR dated 9 December 1944. From CTD 103. Subject: Commendation. Memo regarding assistace to the USS Liddle DE 206/APD 60. Two days prior, at 1125, USS LIDDLE (APD-60) was damaged when a kamikaze plane crashed into the port side of the superstructure. Three minutes later, the COFER proceeded alongside to render assistance.
